General Information
The Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) (“the Organiser”), reserves the right to amend the conference programme, including but not limited to speakers, schedule, format (physical, virtual, or hybrid), and venue, where necessary.
Limitation of Liability
The Organiser shall not be held responsible for:
- Any personal injury, illness, loss, or damage to property sustained during the Conference;
- Travel, accommodation, or related expenses incurred by participants;
- Any indirect or consequential loss arising from participation.
Participants are responsible for their own insurance coverage, including travel and medical insurance.
Force Majeure
While every effort will be made to ensure that the conference proceeds as planned, the Organiser reserves the right to make changes without prior notice.
The Organiser shall not be liable for any delay, postponement, modification, or cancellation of the Conference due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Epidemics or pandemics
- Government regulations or restrictions
- Civil unrest
- Industrial disputes
- Venue unavailability
- Technical failures
- Any other force majeure events
In such circumstances, the Organiser reserves the right to:
- Postpone or reschedule the Conference.
- Convert the Conference to a virtual or hybrid format; or
- Cancel the event.
If the Conference is postponed or converted to a different format, registration fees will be transferred to the rescheduled event and will not be refundable.
Personal Data Protection
In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), as amended, the Organiser is committed to protecting participants’ personal data.
By registering for the Conference, participants consent to the collection, processing, storage, and use of their personal data by the Organiser for purposes related to conference administration, communication, payment processing, certification, event management, and reporting.
Personal data collected will be used solely for the purposes stated above and will not be disclosed to third parties without prior consent, except where required by law or where necessary for the organisation and execution of the Conference.
The Organiser will take reasonable measures to ensure that all personal data is securely stored and protected against unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse.
Photography Notice
Please note that photographs, audio recordings, and video recordings may be taken during the Conference. By attending the event, participants acknowledge and agree that such recordings may be used by the Organiser for promotional, educational, documentation, and reporting purposes, including use on official websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and annual reports.
Participants who do not wish to appear in any photographs or recordings are advised to notify the Conference Secretariat or Organising Committee in writing prior to the event, or to inform on-site event staff.
Professional & Scientific Integrity
The scientific programme is independently developed by the Organiser’s Scientific Committee.
All presentations are expected to be evidence-based and aligned with professional and ethical standards.
Sponsorship & Non-Endorsement Policy
Partnership or sponsorship of the conference does not imply endorsement by the Organiser of any organisation, product, or service.
- Sponsors and partners shall have no influence over the scientific programme, speakers, or content.
- Any sponsored sessions (e.g., satellite or lunch symposiums) must comply with the Organiser’s guidelines and are subject to review and approval by the Organising Committee.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
CPD points (if applicable) will be awarded in accordance with the relevant professional bodies' guidelines and subject to attendance verification.
Participants are responsible for ensuring compliance with their respective professional requirements.
